Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

West Hempstead is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and West Hempstead follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We decided to visit this establishment late at night because we was hungry in New York. The staff here are friendly. It is a bodega, and the food was good. We ordered chopped cheese sandwiches, and they were generous with the meat, making it possible to feel satisfied after eating only half. Overall, the establishment is commendable.

Cherry Valley has officially come to an end for me and my friends. πŸ˜‚ It used to be our go-to spot, especially since it’s one of the only delis open late on Long Island. Lately, though, the food just hasn’t been the same. The quality seems to have gone downhill, and it just doesn’t hit like it used to. At this point, I’d rather drink water and wait until morning than force myself to eat something I’m not going to enjoy. 😭 I really hope they can get back to what made people love them in the first place because they used to be one of my favorite late-night spots.

I recently visited Cherry Valley and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. The customer service left much to be desired; the person who took my order over the phone was not only unhelpful but also seemed slightly rude, which set a negative tone for my visit. When I finally received my food, I was shocked at the quality given the price. The French toast was simply toasted sliced bread with a light dusting of powdered sugar, no egg or cinnamonβ€”not at all what I expected. Additionally, the bacon was undercooked, which was a stark contrast to what I remembered from my previous visits. Since the change of ownership, it seems that the quality of food has declined significantly. I had high hopes for my meal, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed and unlikely to return. I hope they can address these issues and improve both their service and food quality in the future.

The bread was very fresh for a sandwich that I ordered at 9PM. I’m a bit disappointed the BLT hero I ordered was more of a lettuce and tomato hero…where’s the bacon. I’ve never been served a BLT ever with 3 pieces of bacon on the sandwich. For $13, I expected better.

I have been coming here for years. The service is good usually speedy. But over the years the quality of the food is just plummeting. The food is always fresh but the portions of the sandwiches such as the chicken cutlet are off. Now I am a super understanding person when it comes this but the best they can do is try to make it even on both sides. I left the receipt below so you can see the prices of these low quality sandwiches. Now they did offer me my money back but that’s not the point as a returning customer I just want well portioned food. I asked if they could just remake them and they did without a problem. Other than that they did not offer anything for the time I had to waste to come back. The taste is great- just you’ll be only getting one half of a sandwich. πŸ‘πŸΎ Waste of time and money
